It started with a 2005 Impreza WRX
Malik bought his first Subaru Impreza WRX in September 2005. Two years later, he started tuning his own STI’s ECU himself, with a few friends, eventually passing 360hp. Word of mouth did the rest: what began as a passion became a business, formalised on 6 March 2012 with the launch of the first opti-map.com website.
In 2016, buying a Ford Focus ST provided a test bed to develop an SP98/E85 dual-map solution unique to OPTI-MAP. The following year, the business became more structured, with the acquisition of professional remapping tools used by industry leaders.
OPTI-MAP is today a Luxembourg company (RCS Luxembourg B236374), based in Bertrange. In 2026, the business refocused on two brands — Subaru and Ford Focus ST/RS — to stay manageable by one person, without compromising the quality of any single job.
How we work
Diagnosis before tuning
Every engine has its own history: mileage, maintenance, parts already fitted. A map is never copied from one car to another — it is built from a prior diagnosis.
No fixed workshop
A good share of OPTI-MAP’s clients work on their own cars. Coming to you, or receiving your ECU by post, avoids the cost and delay of a public-facing workshop.
A long-standing case for E85
Cheaper at the pump than SP98, partly produced from beet and cereal crops grown in France, E85 remains poorly understood. OPTI-MAP’s SP98/E85 dual-map lets you use it without compromising reliability.
